There is a funny thing
It happens every time there is a significant need. There will be a significant abandance. After the abandoning of the issue, or need, someone notices the hurt because it touches close to home. When that noticing happens, it is too late to cause a healing, so many people have already been harmed.
After such time the only next best thing is prevention. Those who would abandon, those who would be hurt by participating in the prevention process have the opportunity to work in prevention as well as help heal the hearts of those who would be hurt in the future.
There is a before, and there is an after.
There is the hurt, and there is the responded hurting ones.
the funny thing is, those who would rather not hurt, who would feel the pain, or whose children would feel the pain tend to be the ones who wait until the pain hits close to home before they do something toward prevention.
